Street Food Culture Continues to Thrive in Bengaluru

The city of Bengaluru is now seeing a rise in the number of art cafes and cultural hubs that are redefining social and artistic spaces. There are coffee shops like these all over Indiranagar & Whitefield and Koramangala that are not just selling coffee, but also providing space for local artists, musicians & writers to display their creativity.

They host live music nights, poetry nights, art exhibitions and workshops- all provided with a glass of locally made drink. Residents have said such spaces build a sense of community and make culture more accessible, particularly among young creatives who can struggle to secure outlets for their work.

Local artists were thrilled to see attention turn to Bengaluru’s burgeoning creative scene, noting that these cafés provide a direct link between the public and creators without the formality of galleries or concert halls. Weekend sessions for children are also offered in many of the cafés, encouraging kids to become familiar with the arts at a young age.

Culture enthusiasts say such ventures help shape an energetic urban culture that fuses the arts, social interaction and business. For a city that’s synonymous with technology and start-ups, these art hubs are finding a way to redress the balance: enabling residents to step off their busy schedules, interface with local culture and get hands-on with creativity in everyday life.

With more cafes and cultural spaces coming up, Bengaluru is not just turning out to be India’s tech capital but also a city that mirrors art, culture and community living.

Understanding of culture feature (writing):

Culture writing is all about the practices, traditions, art, lifestyles, and experiences that define a society. Culture writing is not like hard news, as it is not about reporting an incident but rather about comprehending the way of living, the way of expression, and the way of making meaning out of life.

Culture writing includes genres such as music, food, fashion, festivals, language, social trends, and local arts. Culture writing usually sheds light on the voices within the society and how culture changes over the years with the passage of time, urbanization, and social changes.
